Indications
Ventolin is used for the treatment of bronchospasm associated with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It can also be used to relieve shortness of breath and chest pain in exercise-induced bronchospasm. The indications for use are asthma, COPD, emphysema, bronchospasm and reversible airways hyperreactivity. The indications of use are asthma and COPD.
Side Effects
The common side effects are headache, back pain, muscle pain and pain. The serious side effects are edema, oedema, constipation, vomiting, rash and photosensitivity.
Inform your doctor if you experience any of the following using a medication: heart problems, irregular heart beats, fast or irregular heartbeat, cerebrovascular accident (Cstroke), a sudden drop in blood pressure, severe skin reaction, loss of appetite, unusual vaginal bleeding, breast pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain or infertility.
Consult your doctor before using Ventolin. You should not use Ventolin if you have a known allergy to albuterol or any other bronchodilating drugs. Your doctor should know about all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal products. Keep away from alcohol, smoking and other drugs that cause bronchospasm. If you drink alcohol while using Ventolin, your symptoms will improve. Do not stop using Ventolin without talking to your doctor first.
Tell your doctor if your breathing problem is due to asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, sinusitis, pain in the upper right ear, or an allergy to medicines. If your breathing problem is due to an infection, injury or surgery, your doctor should know about all the medicines you are taking and how often you are taking them.
Keep away from alcohol.
Do not smoke or use tobacco. Ventolin can make you feel dizzy, sleepy and can worsen breathing problems.
Take special care with Ventolin. Ask your doctor for extra care if your asthma symptoms do not improve.
Inform your doctor if your condition worsens or you are unable to breathe. Ventolin is not a cure for asthma and does not cure it. However, doctors may prescribe bronchodilation drugs to treat asthma or help relieve symptoms.

Drug Interactions
Albuterol belongs to a class of medications known as bronchodilators. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and increasing airflow to the lungs. Albuterol may also cause increased salivation. Albuterol can be harmful to unborn or nursing infants if inhaled. Tell your doctor before taking Albuterol if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not known if Albuterol passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Drug and food Interactions
Albuterol may decrease the effectiveness of bronchodilation drugs. Do not take Ventolin if you are using an ACE inhibitor. Do not take Ventolin if you are using a diuretic, a fluid retention medication or an inhaled corticosteroid. You may take Ventolin with or without food. Consult your doctor for more details.
Driving and using machines
Albuterol may make you more dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how you will react to this medication. Use caution when driving or operating machinery until you have discussed the risks and benefits of Ventolin with your doctor. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Ventolin can worsen your breathing problems. Do not stop using Ventolin suddenly. Ask your doctor for more details.
